Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

Cyberpedia Kids is an online cybersecurity learning platform for children. We take the privacy of children and families seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to parents, guardians, and schools.

Who this policy covers

This policy applies to children who use Cyberpedia Kids, and to the parents, guardians, teachers, and schools who manage their accounts. Children's accounts are created and managed by a parent, guardian, or school — children cannot sign up on their own.

Information we collect

We collect the information needed to run the learning experience: a child's first name and chosen display name, an avatar, course and lesson progress, quiz attempts and results, points, badges, certificates, and basic technical data such as device and browser type. For parent, teacher, and admin accounts we also collect an email address used for sign-in and notifications.

How we use information

We use this information to deliver lessons and quizzes, track and display learning progress, award points and badges, issue certificates, send the notifications a parent has chosen to receive, keep accounts secure, and improve the platform. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use children's data for behavioural advertising.

Children's privacy

A child's account is always linked to a managing adult — a parent, guardian, or school. Account creation requires that adult's action and consent. We collect only the data needed for the educational service and retain it no longer than necessary for that purpose.

How we share information

We share a child's learning data with the parents, guardians, and teachers linked to that child's account, and with service providers who help us operate the platform (for example hosting and email delivery) under contracts that require them to protect the data. We may also disclose information where required by law.

Data security

We protect data with encryption in transit, access controls, and least-privilege practices. Sensitive credentials such as multi-factor authentication secrets are encrypted at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard the information entrusted to us.

Data retention

We keep account and learning data for as long as the account is active. When an account is closed, we delete or anonymise the associated personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain records by law.

Parental rights and choices

Parents, guardians, and schools can review a child's information, update notification preferences, request corrections, and request deletion of the child's account and data. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below or use the controls in your dashboard.

Where data is processed

Our platform and its service providers may process and store data on servers located in different countries. Wherever data is processed, we apply the protections described in this policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify account holders.
